RMOUG is looking for presentations that celebrate the best of the old, and the best of the new and emerging technologies. Ideas for topics:
Applications
All software programming in any environment - including all programming tools and vendor business suites requiring programming.
Examples include SQL, PL/SQL, .Net, JEE, Oracle Fusion, JDeveloper, Eclipse, Visual Studio, Hibernate, Spring, Struts, TopLink, AJAX, Sliverlight, Testing, Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF), Essbase, Oracle Forms and Reports, Oracle SQL Developer, and TOAD. Packaged applications include Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, and industry-specific packages.
DBA
Database administration concepts and techniques for database management systems including Oracle, DB2, Sybase, Data Modeling, SQL Server, and MySQL. Administration tools include Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL Developer, Data Pump, RMAN, Source Control and Versioning (e.g. CVS, Subversion, GIT, etc…), Unix/Linux Administration, Tuning, Testing Methodology.
Middleware
Concepts and management techniques for Web servers, application servers, and portals. Examples include Java EE Servers (e.g. JBoss, Tomcat, Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, etc…) IIS, Web Services, SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), ESBs, REST, Web Center, Application Integration, XML, and JSON.
Management Infrastructure
All system hardware, software, and environment management. Examples include "green" computer centers, power conditioning and backup, and application and data backup and recovery.
Security
All system environments covering hardware, software administration, and identity verification. Examples include Single Sign On, Oracle Identity Management, and firewalls.
Professional Development
Leadership and management subjects of interest to technical professionals. Examples include project management, generational differences in the workplace, networking tools such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
Give us something new that has not been presented previously. We are especially looking for abstracts on the hottest topics like AJAX, SOA, the Business Web, and distributed development. How is the wired world changing the way YOU do business? How has your organization learned to love Open Source? How do you resolve the new challenges imposed? RMOUG participants want lessons learned, tips and techniques, case studies, and presentations on “what I need to know to be ahead of the curve.” Equally important, they want your help to avoid the potholes and stay out of the ditches. Be creative, bold, and original!

How Can I Be a Presenter?
- Complete the abstract form with a 150-word abstract describing your paper and its relevancy to Oracle users. Sessions can be 30 Minute Quick Tips, 60 Minute Presentations, or 90 Minute Presentations. Submit your abstract by October 6, 2009.
- It is important to remember that your presentation must be technical in nature and not used for marketing purposes.
